Keb’ Mo’ and Taj Mahal showcase their “strong chemistry” (Wall Street Journal) – and a blues prowess that’s earned them ten combined GRAMMY Awards – on “Junkyard Dog\,” which was originally written by Nashville-based songwriter Maia Sharp for her album Mercy Rising (2021). “This track is where this TajMo album began\,” says Keb’ Mo’. “I heard Maia Sharp’s version of ‘Junkyard Dog’ and I knew we could put some dirt on it and make it ours. It has the bones of a blues anthem.” \nThe ten-song collection finds the duo reuniting for their first release together since 2017\, when their debut collaboration TajMo brought them from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (for a stunning performance alongside Jon Batiste) to Marc Maron’s garage to the GRAMMY stage (where they took home Best Contemporary Blues Album). While putting their signature stamp on favorite tunes like “Junkyard Dog\,” Room On The Porch also features more original\, co-written tracks between the legendary pair than ever before – playing to each other’s strengths and discovering creative horizons more than a half-century into their storied careers. \n“The two of us collaborating has always been a very organic thing\,” Taj reflects. “We have different skill sets that go well together\, and even though it’d been a while since we’d played together\, it was easy to get back to that same creative place we landed with the first album.” \nWith special guest Abraham Alexander.

DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\nFifteen-time GRAMMY® Award-winner Ricky Skaggs’ career is easily among the most significant in recent country music history. If Skaggs’ burgeoning trophy case full of awards wasn’t already enough evidence of that fact\, consider that legendary guitarist Chet Atkins once credited Skaggs with “single-handedly saving country music.” His life’s path has taken him to various musical genres\, from where it all began in bluegrass music\, to striking out on new musical journeys\, while still leaving his musical roots intact. \nBorn July 18\, 1954 in Cordell\, Kentucky\, Skaggs showed signs of future stardom at an early age\, playing mandolin on stage with bluegrass pioneer Bill Monroe at 6 and appearing on TV with Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs at 7. He emerged as a professional bluegrass musician in 1971\, when he and his friend Keith Whitley were invited to join the legendary Ralph Stanley’s band the Clinch Mountain Boys. \nSkaggs then went on to record and perform with progressive bluegrass acts like the Country Gentlemen and J.D. Crowe & the New South\, whose self-titled 1975 Rounder Records debut album was instantly recognized as a landmark bluegrass achievement. He then led Boone Creek\, which also featured Dobro ace and fellow New South alumnus Jerry Douglas. \nBut Skaggs turned to the more mainstream country music genre in the late ‘70s when he joined Emmylou Harris’s Hot Band\, replacing Rodney Crowell. He became a recording artist in his own right in 1981 when his Epic label debut album Waitin’ for the Sun to Shine topped the country charts and yielded a pair of #1 hits. Overall\, his productive stay at Epic Records would result in a total of 12 #1 hits. Additionally\, he garnered eight Country Music Association Awards–including the coveted Entertainer of the Year trophy in 1985. \nSkaggs\, of course\, fit right in with young “new-traditionalist” ‘80s artists like Randy Travis\, and helped rejuvenate the country music genre after the worn-out “Urban Cowboy” period. But\, Skaggs put his own stamp on the country format by infusing his bluegrass and traditional country music roots into the contemporary Nashville sound. \nSkaggs’ 1997 album Bluegrass Rules!\, released on his newly-formed Skaggs Family Records label\, marked a triumphant return to bluegrass—which he’s solidified ever since with a series of GRAMMY® Award winning albums\, recorded with his amazing bluegrass band\, Kentucky Thunder (8-time winners of the IBMA ‘Instrumental Group of the Year’). Skaggs’ label has also served as a home for similar bluegrass and roots music-oriented artists including The Whites. \nIn the past decade\, he has been honored with inductions into the Gospel Music Association’s Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame. In 2018\, a landmark year\, Skaggs was also awarded membership into the National Fiddler Hall of Fame\, the IBMA Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and country music’s greatest honor\, the Country Music Hall of Fame. Most recently\, he was awarded the prestigious National Medal of Arts in 2020 for his contributions to the American music industry. \nRicky struck his first chords on a mandolin over 60 years ago\, and he continues to do his part to lead the recent roots revival in music. Clearly his passion for it puts him in the position to bring his lively\, distinctively American form of music out of isolation and into the ears and hearts of audiences across the country and around the world. Ricky Skaggs is always forging ahead with cross-cultural\, genre-bending musical ideas and inspirations.

She began teaching Yoga in NYC and has taught for over 20 years at colleges and various learning centers. As they celebrate their 50th anniversary\, the band reaches a rare milestone that only a few bands ever achieve. Founded by Paul Kantner in the ’70s\, Jefferson Starship was conceived as a collective of musical adventurers contributing to his epic concept albums and eventual catalog of rock classics. When the current lineup came together in 2012\, with many members having joined years earlier\, Kantner couldn’t have predicted the band would become the road-conquering force they are today. The five members of Jefferson Starship often describe themselves as both a “family” and a”gang\,” and this sense of camaraderie shines through in their performances. Over the years\, they’ve played in all 50 U.S. states\, five continents\, and countless countries. A recent tour of New Zealand was noted as one of the band’s favorites\, and their live shows continue to offer a non-stop mix of rock hits. The band’s current lineup includes original member David Freiberg\, drummer Donny Baldwin (who first joined in 1982)\, keyboardist Chris Smith (who joined in 1998)\, guitarist Jude Gold (who joined in 2012)\, and singer/guitarist Cathy Richardson (who joined in 2008 after Kantner saw her perform with Big Brother and the Holding Company). As Jefferson Starship celebrates its 50th anniversary\, the band reflects on the legacy of Paul Kantner\, who passed away in 2016. The spirit of exploration and adventure he instilled in the band lives on in their music and performances. DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\nDuring the full moon we will explore the theme of full awareness through the practice of yoga poses. This class is open to all levels of experience. Lauren\, the class instructor\, will guide you with an easeful flow from one pose to the next. Lauren earned her Kripalu certification in 1998 and also completed Ana Forrest Advanced Teacher Training in 2017 at Kripalu. She began teaching Yoga in NYC and has taught for over 20 years at colleges and various learning centers.
